Aimilia

Aimilia is the Greek form of the Latin name Aemilia, the feminine of the Roman family name Aemilius, which derives from the Latin root aemulus, meaning striving or rival. The Aemilii were one of the most distinguished patrician clans of ancient Rome, giving the name long-standing aristocratic prestige. The name spread through Greek-speaking Christian communities partly through the veneration of early saints. Closely related forms include Emilia, Émilie, and Emily.
