Annet

Annet is a Dutch diminutive form of Anna, itself derived from the Hebrew Channah, meaning grace or favor. It has been used as an independent given name in the Netherlands and Flanders for several centuries, following a widespread European tradition of forming pet forms from Anna. The name is also commonly found in Uganda and other parts of East Africa, where it was introduced through Christian missionary influence and has since become well established. Related forms include Annette, Annet's French counterpart, as well as Annika and Anje.
