Calleigh

Calleigh is an anglicized respelling of the Irish and Scottish Gaelic name Caoilfhinn (also rendered Keelan or Caolfhinn), meaning slender and fair or slender and white, from the Gaelic elements caol (slender, narrow) and fionn (fair, white, bright). The name belongs to a broader family of Gaelic names built on the fionn element, which also gave rise to Fiona, Fionn, and Finley. The modernized spelling Calleigh, along with the variant Caylee, emerged primarily in English-speaking countries during the late twentieth century, often chosen for its phonetic appeal rather than direct awareness of the Gaelic roots.
