Cecily

Cecily is the medieval English form of Cecilia, itself derived from the Latin family name Caecilia, the feminine of Caecilius, which is thought to stem from the Latin caecus, meaning blind. The name gained widespread use in the Christian world through Saint Cecilia, a Roman martyr of the second or third century who became the patron saint of music. Cecily was particularly fashionable in medieval England and was borne by several noblewomen, including Cecily Neville, Duchess of York and mother of two English kings.
