Chiara

Chiara is the Italian form of Clara, derived from the Latin adjective clarus, meaning bright, clear, or famous. The name gained widespread use in Italy largely through Saint Chiara of Assisi, the thirteenth-century founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, a close companion of Saint Francis. Its equivalents in other languages include Clara, Claire, and Clare, and the Spanish and Portuguese form Clara remains common across many cultures.
