Danijel

Danijel is the South Slavic form of Daniel, derived from the Hebrew name Daniyyel, composed of the elements din, meaning judge, and el, meaning God, giving the overall sense of God is my judge. The name is used primarily in Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia, and shares its roots with the biblical prophet Daniel, whose story appears in the Hebrew scriptures.
