Danni is a Scandinavian and English diminutive form of Daniela or Danielle, themselves feminine adaptations of the Hebrew name Daniel, meaning God is my judge, from the elements din (judge) and el (God). It developed as an informal pet form that gained independent use as a given name across northern Europe and the English-speaking world during the twentieth century. The name shares its roots with Daniel, Danielle, Dana, and Daniela.
