Eerikki

Eerikki is the Finnish form of Eric, ultimately derived from the Old Norse name Eiríkr, composed of the elements ei, meaning ever or always, and ríkr, meaning ruler or king. The name has been borne by several Scandinavian kings and is deeply embedded in Nordic cultural history, including Saint Eric of Sweden, the patron saint of that country. Eerikki is used predominantly in Finland alongside the shorter form Eero and the more widespread Finnish variant Eerik.
