Eliou

Eliou is the Biblical Greek form of the Hebrew name Eliyyahu, composed of the elements El, meaning God, and Yah, a shortened form of the divine name Yahweh, giving the overall sense of my God is Yahweh. The name belongs to the tradition of Greek renderings of Old Testament figures, in this case the prophet Elijah, who appears prominently in the Books of Kings.
