Faye

Faye is an English name derived from the Middle English word meaning fairy or elf, ultimately tracing back to Old French fae, from Latin fata, the Fates. It was used as a given name from the 19th century onward and gained wider popularity in the 20th century, partly through associations with the actress Faye Dunaway. It is also sometimes regarded as a short form of Faith. Related forms include Fay and the medieval name Morgan le Fay, the enchantress of Arthurian legend.
