Freyja

Freyja is an Old Norse name meaning lady or mistress, derived from the Proto-Germanic root *frawjō, which carries the sense of a noble or sovereign woman. In Norse mythology, Freyja is one of the most prominent goddesses, associated with love, fertility, war, and magic, and she is a central figure in the Vanir pantheon. Her name is closely related to the masculine counterpart Freyr, meaning lord, and both names share ancestry with the Old High German frouwa and the modern German Frau. The modern Scandinavian form Freja remains widely used across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
