Freyja

From Old Norse, Freyja means lady or mistress, derived from the Proto-Germanic root frawjō, denoting a woman of high rank. In Norse mythology, Freyja is a major goddess associated with love, fertility, beauty, war, and magic, and she is among the most prominent deities of the Vanir tribe. Her name is closely related to the title Freyr, her brother, which means lord, and both ultimately share the same Germanic root. The anglicized form Freya is widely used today, and the weekday name Friday is believed by some scholars to derive from her name through Old English.
