Hania is chiefly a Polish diminutive of Hanna, itself the Polish form of Hannah, which derives from the Hebrew Channah meaning grace or favour. The name is also found in Arabic-speaking cultures as a feminine name meaning happy or satisfied, from the Arabic root related to contentment and well-being.
