Hubrecht

Hubrecht is a Dutch archaic form of a Germanic name composed of the elements hug, meaning mind or spirit, and beraht, meaning bright or famous, together conveying the sense of one brilliant in mind or renowned for intellect. The name belongs to the same Germanic naming tradition that produced the widely used Hubert, as well as related forms such as Hubrecht's Flemish and German cognates. It was in use during the medieval period in the Low Countries but gradually fell out of common use as Hubert and its equivalents became dominant across Europe.
