Isidra

Isidra is the feminine form of the Spanish and Latin name Isidro, itself derived from the Greek name Isidoros, composed of the elements Isis, the name of the ancient Egyptian goddess, and doron, meaning gift, giving the overall sense of gift of Isis. The name entered widespread use in the Iberian Peninsula through veneration of Saint Isidore of Seville, the influential seventh-century scholar and bishop. Isidora is a common variant, and cognate forms appear across European languages, including the English and Italian Isidore and the French Isidore.
