Jacob

Jacob comes from the Hebrew name Yaakov, derived from the root word meaning heel or, by extension, one who follows at the heel or supplants. In the Hebrew Bible, Jacob is the patriarch who grasps his twin brother Esau's heel at birth and later obtains Esau's birthright, making the name deeply embedded in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic tradition.
