Jarmo

Jarmo is a Finnish given name derived from the Hebrew name Jeremiah, meaning "God will raise up" or "God will exalt," transmitted into Finnish through the Scandinavian form Jermo and adapted to suit Finnish phonology. It emerged as a distinctly Finnish masculine name and gained particular popularity in Finland during the twentieth century.
