Juhan

Juhan is an Estonian form of John, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning God is gracious. It entered Estonian through Latin Iohannes and its Germanic intermediaries, following the spread of Christianity across northern Europe. The Sami variant Juhán carries the same origin and meaning. Related forms include the Finnish Juhani and the Latvian Juhanis.
