Juliette

Juliette is a French feminine diminutive of Julie, itself derived from the Latin Iulia, the feminine form of the Roman family name Iulius, which may trace back to the Greek Ioulos meaning downy-bearded or to the legendary Iulus, son of Aeneas. The name gained widespread recognition across Europe largely through Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet, in which Juliette appears as the Italian-set heroine Juliet. It remains particularly popular in French-speaking countries and has been borne by notable figures such as the French actress Juliette Binoche.
