Justus

Justus is a Latin name derived from justus, meaning just or righteous, itself rooted in jus, the Latin word for law or right. It was borne by several early Christian figures, including one of the candidates proposed to replace Judas Iscariot among the apostles as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles, which helped establish the name in ecclesiastical tradition. The name remained in use throughout medieval Europe and became particularly common in German and Dutch-speaking regions.
