Jutta

Jutta is a medieval German contracted form of Judith, itself derived from the Hebrew name Yehudit, meaning woman of Judea or Jewess, from the tribal name Yehudah. The name was popular in medieval Germany, borne notably by Jutta of Sponheim, a twelfth-century recluse and mystic who was the mentor of Hildegard of Bingen.
