Kiana

Kiana has two distinct origins. As a Hawaiian name, it is generally considered an adaptation of Diana, the Latin name of the Roman goddess of the moon and the hunt, itself of uncertain ancient Indo-European roots. In modern African American usage, Kiana arose as a creative coinage, likely influenced by names with the fashionable Ki- prefix and resonant feminine endings popular from the late twentieth century onward.
