Klaudia

Klaudia is the Polish, Slovak, Hungarian, Albanian, and German feminine form of the Latin family name Claudius, itself derived from the Roman clan name Claudius, which is believed to stem from the Latin word claudus, meaning lame or limping. The name entered wide Christian use through Saint Claudia, a woman mentioned briefly in the New Testament epistle Second Timothy. It shares its origin with the French Claudie, the Italian and Spanish Claudia, and the masculine forms Klaudius and Claudius.
