Laz

Laz is an English short form of Lazarus, which derives from the Greek Lazaros, itself an adaptation of the Hebrew name Elazar, meaning God has helped. The name is most familiar through the biblical figure Lazarus of Bethany, whom Jesus is said to have raised from the dead in the Gospel of John, as well as the beggar Lazarus in a parable of Luke.
