Len

Len is an English short form of Leonard or, less commonly, Lenin or Glenn. Leonard derives from the Old High German elements lewo, a borrowing from Latin leo meaning lion, combined with hard meaning brave or strong, giving the overall sense of brave lion. The name gained widespread use in medieval Europe partly through the veneration of Saint Leonard of Noblac, a sixth-century Frankish saint associated with the liberation of prisoners.
