Lennard

Lennard is a Dutch form of Leonard, derived from the Old High German elements leon, meaning lion, and hard, meaning brave or strong, together conveying the sense of brave as a lion. The name was borne by several medieval saints, most notably Saint Leonard of Noblac, the sixth-century patron of prisoners, whose veneration helped spread the name across western Europe. Lennard remains in use primarily in Dutch-speaking regions, alongside related forms such as Leonard, Leonardo, and Leonhard.
