Linnea

Linnea is a Scandinavian feminine name derived from the linden tree, whose Old Norse and Germanic root *lind* referred to the soft, flexible wood of that tree. The name gained widespread recognition through the twinflower plant, *Linnaea borealis*, which was named in honor of the Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, himself a Latinized form of the Swedish word for linden.
