Melitta

Melitta is the Ancient Greek form of Melissa, derived from the Greek word for bee, melissa, itself rooted in meli, meaning honey. The name was borne in Greek mythology by a nymph said to have discovered the use of honey, and it appears in classical texts as a name for servants and minor divine figures. The German brand name Melitta, established in the early twentieth century by entrepreneur Melitta Bentz, brought the name wider modern recognition. Melissa and Melita are the most closely related variants.
