Neda

Neda has two distinct origins. In South Slavic languages such as Croatian, Serbian, and Bulgarian, it functions as a short form of names beginning with the element ned-, related to the word for Sunday, carrying connotations of a child born on that day. In Persian, Neda means voice or calling, and the name gained widespread international attention following the death of Neda Agha-Soltan during the 2009 Iranian protests, making it a symbol of the reform movement.
