Prisca

Prisca is a Latin feminine name derived from the adjective priscus, meaning ancient, old-fashioned, or venerable. It was used in early Roman society and gained particular prominence in the Christian tradition through Saint Prisca, a Roman martyr, and through the Prisca mentioned in the New Testament as a companion of the apostle Paul. The diminutive form Priscilla became considerably more widespread and is often treated as an independent name, though the two share the same root.
