Rahel

Rahel is the German, Estonian, and Biblical Latin form of Rachel, derived from the Hebrew name Rakhel, meaning ewe, a female sheep. The name belongs to the ancient Semitic tradition and was borne in the Hebrew Bible by the beloved wife of the patriarch Jacob and mother of Joseph and Benjamin. Its Hungarian equivalent is Ráhel, and other cognate forms found across European languages include Rachel, Raquel, and Rahela.
