Rick

Rick is an English short form of Richard, which derives from the Old High German elements ric, meaning power or ruler, and hard, meaning brave or strong, giving the combined sense of powerful ruler or strong in rule. The name Richard was brought to England by the Normans and became widespread throughout medieval Europe, borne most famously by three English kings, including Richard I, known as Richard the Lionheart.
