Rubye

Rubye is an English given name and an elaborated spelling variant of Ruby, which derives from the Latin rubeus, meaning red, the same root that gives the gemstone its name. Ruby itself came into use as a given name in the nineteenth century, following the Victorian fashion for jewel names alongside Pearl and Opal.
