Theresia

Theresia is the German and Dutch form of Theresa, a name whose precise origin remains uncertain but is most commonly linked to the Greek island of Thera or to the Greek verb therízō, meaning to harvest. The name gained widespread use across Catholic Europe largely through the influence of Saint Teresa of Ávila, the sixteenth-century Spanish mystic and reformer, and was further popularized by Empress Maria Theresia of Austria in the eighteenth century.
