Tom

Tom is an English short form of Thomas, which derives from the Aramaic name Toma, meaning twin. The name entered widespread use in medieval Europe through the apostle Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus, and was further popularized by figures such as Thomas Becket, the martyred Archbishop of Canterbury.
