Uilliam

Uilliam is the Irish Gaelic form of William, ultimately derived from the Old High German name Willahelm, composed of the elements wil, meaning will or desire, and helm, meaning helmet or protection. The name was introduced to the British Isles by the Normans, most famously through William the Conqueror, and was subsequently adapted into Irish as Uilliam.
