Ulrikke

Ulrikke is the Norwegian and Danish feminine form of Ulrich, derived from the Old High German name Uodalrich, composed of the elements uodal, meaning "heritage" or "ancestral estate," and rih, meaning "power" or "ruler." The name thus carries the sense of "ruler of the ancestral homeland." It has been used in Scandinavian countries for centuries, partly through German and aristocratic influence on the Nordic courts. Masculine cognates include Ulrik and Ulrich, while Ulrika is the Swedish equivalent.
