Victoria

Victoria derives from the Latin word victoria, meaning victory, and was the name of the ancient Roman goddess of victory, the counterpart to the Greek Nike. The name was used occasionally in the Roman Empire but gained widespread popularity in the English-speaking world largely through Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, who reigned from 1837 to 1901 and gave her name to an entire era.
