Yuliya

Yuliya is the East Slavic feminine form of the Latin name Julius, itself derived from the Roman family name Iulius, which may trace back to a Latin or Oscan root possibly connected to the Greek Ioulos, meaning downy-bearded or first beard, suggesting youthful vigor. The name gained wide currency in Eastern Europe through the influence of Roman culture and later Christian traditions, as the male form Julius was borne by several early saints and popes. It is used across Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, and Bulgarian naming traditions, and corresponds closely to the Western European forms Julia and Julie, as well as the variant Yulia.
