Angie

Angie is an English diminutive of Angela, which derives from the Latin angelus and ultimately from the Greek angelos, meaning messenger or angel. The name came into widespread use in the Christian tradition, where angels held deep theological significance. Angie gained particular cultural visibility in the English-speaking world during the twentieth century and is also associated with the 1973 Rolling Stones song of the same name.
