Antonela

Antonela is a Croatian and South Slavic feminine form of the Latin name Antonius, a Roman family name of uncertain origin, possibly Etruscan, though it was long folk-associated with the Greek word anthos, meaning flower. The name spread widely through the Roman Catholic world in honor of saints such as Anthony of Padua and Anthony the Great. Antonela is closely related to the more widespread Antonella, the Italian diminutive form of Antonia, as well as Antoinette, Antónia, and Antonija.
