Danielle

Danielle is the French feminine form of Daniel, which derives from the Hebrew name Daniyyel, composed of the elements din, meaning judgment, and el, meaning God, together conveying the sense of God is my judge. The name gained widespread use in France and subsequently spread to English- and Dutch-speaking countries during the twentieth century, becoming especially popular in the United States and United Kingdom from the 1970s onward.
