Diederick

Diederick is a Dutch form of the Germanic name Theodoric, composed of the elements þeud, meaning people or nation, and rīc, meaning power or ruler, giving the overall sense of ruler of the people. The name was borne by several Frankish and Ostrogothic kings, most famously Theodoric the Great, who ruled the Ostrogoths in the late fifth and early sixth centuries.
