Elisabeta

Elisabeta is the Romanian form of Elizabeth, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Elisheba, composed of the elements el, meaning God, and sheva, meaning either oath or seven. The name appears in the Hebrew Bible as the wife of Aaron, and its Greek form Elisavet passed through Latin Elisabeth before spreading across Europe in countless regional adaptations.
