Elisabeta

Elisabeta is the Romanian form of Elizabeth, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Elisheba, meaning my God is an oath or my God is abundance. The name appears in the Hebrew Bible as the wife of Aaron, and its Greek form Elisabet carried it into the New Testament as the mother of John the Baptist. The name spread widely across Europe through Christian tradition, giving rise to forms such as Elisabetta, Isabel, and Elżbieta in other languages.
