Freya

Freya derives from Old Norse Freyja, meaning lady or mistress, from the Proto-Germanic root *frawjō. In Norse mythology, Freyja is a major goddess associated with love, fertility, beauty, and war, who rides a chariot drawn by cats and possesses the famed necklace Brísingamen. The name has seen widespread modern adoption across English-speaking and Germanic countries, particularly since the nineteenth century. Related forms include Freja, common in Scandinavia, and the masculine counterpart Freyr.
