Georgianna

Georgianna is an English elaborated feminine form of George, which derives from the Greek name Georgios, itself rooted in the Greek word georgos, meaning farmer or earthworker, from ge (earth) and ergon (work). The name gained popularity in the English-speaking world during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, partly through aristocratic usage, as seen with figures such as Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. It is closely related to the shorter forms Georgiana and Georgina, as well as the French-influenced Georgienne and the simpler Georgia.
