Iefan

Iefan is a Welsh form of John, ultimately derived from the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning God is gracious. It represents a medieval Welsh adaptation of the Latin Iohannes, following the sound changes characteristic of the Welsh language. The name shares its roots with the far more common Welsh forms Ifan and Evan, as well as the English John and its many European cognates.
