feminine · English (Rare) origin
Korrine is an English variant spelling of Corinne, which ultimately derives from the ancient Greek name Korinna, built on the root korē, meaning girl or maiden. The Greek poet Korinna of Tanagra, said to have been a contemporary and rival of Pindar, is among the earliest known bearers of the name. The French form Corinne gained wider European familiarity partly through Germaine de Staël's 1807 novel of the same name. Related forms include Corinne, Corinna, Korinne, and Karina.
