Lucilla

Lucilla is a Latin feminine diminutive of Lucia, itself derived from the Roman root lux, meaning light. The name was common in ancient Rome and was borne notably by Lucilla, a daughter of the emperor Marcus Aurelius, who later became empress consort of Lucius Verus. Several early Christian saints also carried the name, contributing to its use in medieval Italy. Closely related forms include Lucia, Lucilla's direct root, as well as Lucille, Lucila, and the masculine Lucillus.
