Luise

Luise is the German form of Louise, itself the French feminine form of Louis, derived from the Old Frankish name Chlodovech, composed of the elements hlud, meaning famous, and wig, meaning warrior or battle. The name became widely used across German-speaking lands partly through the influence of Queen Luise of Prussia, a beloved figure of the early nineteenth century who became a symbol of German national identity.
