Magali

Magali is an Occitan and Provençal form of Magdelene, itself derived from the Hebrew place name Migdal, meaning tower, which gave rise to the epithet of Mary Magdalene in the New Testament. The name gained wide recognition in southern France through Frédéric Mistral's 1859 Provençal epic poem Mirèio, in which Magali appears as a beloved figure in an embedded song.
